Promoting healthy communities through
the planning, coordination and management
of municipal services and programs.
Message from the Supervisor
Effective January 1, 2000, the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board (DSB) was designated by Ontario as a consolidated municipal service manager (CMSM) with respect to management responsibilities for the Child Care system, as legislated in the Child Care and Early Years Act 2014.
As the designated Child Care and Early Years Service System Manager, the DSB is responsible for planning and managing licenced Child Care services and EarlyON Child and Family Services in our region. Service planning with community partners is essential to strengthen the quality of the early years system, we are committed to working with community partners and families to ensure that as many children as possible have access to high quality early years experiences.
It is of critical importance to us that the following priorities be considered when planning for the early years in our community:
• Quality
• Affordability
• Access
• Choice
• Partnerships
Positive early years experiences promote healthy child development, Child Care is an essential support for many parents. Please take some time to review service locations, Child Care rates and fee subsidy information on our website.
EarlyON Child and Family Centres offer high quality, free drop-in programs for caregivers and children. The centres are welcoming and support early learning and development, parent and caregiver engagement and community connections. Please visit the EarlyON section on our website for more information regarding EarlyON centres in your community.
Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have questions regarding early years services in your community
Sincerely,
Amy Winnington-Ingram
